The prisoner's legs were metal power feeds attached to the container. The prisoner's eye was huge, looking back at the prison from which he had escaped.

The prisoner was drawn on the side of a shipping container that formed one wall of the Mersea restaurant on Treasure Island, a part of San Francisco, California. The prisoner appeared to be swimming away from Alcatraz.

The soles of the prisoner's shoes were created by painting the power feed caps brown with a horizontal line indicating the separation of the heel from the sole. Notice that the prisoner has two different sized feet.
