A Ostrich curved its head around to preen the feathers of its neck. The result was a very natural letter P.

A safety rail next to stone steps behind the Westcliff Lodge, led from the lawn up to a viewing area for the Colombia River Gorge. Those steps were bracketed by a steel safety rail. When viewed from just the right angle, the letter P appeared.

Moss can grow on trees and vines and roots. Here moss grew on branches and one of those branches formed the letter P.

Boards Held Down Plastic

Part of the tear-down of the central freeway for seismic retrofit left bare dirt exposed. That dirt was covered with plastic to prevent erosion caused by rain. To keep the plastic from blowing away, weights were set on it in random places. Mostly the weights were sand bags, but one weight was a trio of nailed boards. Because of the way the boards were nailed, the letter P was formed.

The hand rail next to the ramp leading down off the trolley platform was curved at its end. Fortunately that curve overlapped a vertical post to create the letter P. Behind the P was the ramp for the not-yet-begun E-line.

The shadow of a traffic control light was cast on the sidewalk just behind a parked car. By lopping off the top of the pole with the image frame, the letter P was revealed.
