A strikingly vivid Spotted Tussock Moth Caterpillar was found on a leaf alongside the path. Its vivid colors warned predators away from wrongly trying to ingest its apparently spiked exterior.

Tiny Crab

Old beams floated in the water alongside the path just past a bridge. Our footsteps flushed a crab into view, just barely visible along the inner midpoint of the floating beam.
