This was a large construction project, for merely connecting the subway to the T-line. This view was from Townsend Street with the end of construction at King Street a block behind.

A small piece of construction equipment was parked at the Harrison Street end of one dug up portion.

At the this time, construction was only between cross streets. The cross streets would be closed later to run tracks across them.

The center of 4th street was dug up to prepare for concrete and rail tracks. This project extended from the start of the subway under the freeway, to the Caltrain Station.
