This shot shows how successfully they can pass themselves off as floating seaweed.

This Leafy Seadragon was departing for deeper water which provided a nice view of its tail.

The Leafy Seadragon is propelled by transparent fins on its dorsal and ventral sides. Even up close they are impossible to see.

Here was another Leafy Seadragon that was swimming in daylight.

Here was a group of three Seadragons swimming alongside each other. This made it hard to tell were one began and the other ended.

The name "Leafy" comes from the profusion of leaf-like appendages used for camouflage not for propulsion. The Leafy Seadragon, here under evening light, is meant to resemble floating seaweed.
