Red, Color As Found Art

Restored old rail cars were on display in the California Railroad Museum.
One was an old sleeper car. Here its red curtains were softly lit from outside.

The walk along the Charco Verde Nature Trail passed many colorful objects and natural flora.
Here was a bush whose leaves were a uniformly red color.

One of the booths of the Aloha Festival on the Presidio Grounds displayed fabric prints
and wrap-skirts. Here was one sample with a red sea turtle on red cloth.

Fog obscured the fireworks that night. Here a red display lit the sky from behind.

An old brick wall in an alley of downtown Sacramento had been partly painted red.

This particular fire alarm casing was cast in 1941.

Sees Candy store was located in the Embarcadero Center. Across from it,
red plastic blocked the interior view of a new store. This is that Sees Candy
store reflected in that red plastic.

There were many fine shops in the Embarcadero Center. One such shop
displayed a red leather purse.

A red parking meter still showed time remaining for the red car parked in its parking space.

A series of posts were set into the edge of the sidewalk to prevent
cars from parking on that sidewalk. The top of each post was painted red.
This was the wounded top of one such post.

Red painted bricks had a black steel gas line run vertically up its surface.

At 4th and Bryant was a small bar and cafe. At one time its lattice had
been stained a bright red, but over time that lattice has faded.

In a restaurant window in downtown San Francisco, many wine glasses were
hung upside down on a bright red wine glass holder.

In the kitchen of the Roberts's home in Pleasant Hill, Uncle Mason sliced
cheese for part of Christmas dinner.
