"Ascension of Life into Electrolyte Night" Mural 2014, Artist: Anthony Padilla, Sponsored by: Pence Gallery, 212 D Street, Davis, California
The mural was painted on one of two back walls of the Pence Gallery in downtown Davis, California.
It showed a double helix of DNA passing through a butterfly and unspooling into the stars and floating cities.
Anthony Padilla's signature image, in the left lower corner of the mural, was a honeycomb and bees.
Notice behind the bees was an electronic printed circuit in blue.
The artist's signature was near the sidewalk. It read "kinetikideas.com"
The sign identifying the mural was small and a bit below head hight.
It read in part:
A bee hovered in space over a planet that was composed of blue printed circuits.
The butterfly had a security camera attached to its wing. Notice that the double helix of DNA unwrapped and ended
at a flower upon which was a fantasy city.
A bee hovered under a stylized leaf and above a blue printed circuit.
The double helix of DNA originated from a single cell of a honeycomb. Behind the honeycomb was a much-darker blue printed
circuit. A real bush grew at the foot of the mural. The mural was painted over a door.
