Long View Polar Bear, Artists: Don Kennell And Lisa Adler, American Artists, From Santa Fe, New Mexico, Sculpture Located At Ferry Building Plaza, San Francisco, California
A huge polar bear sculpture greeted visitors as they arrived at the Ferry Building in San Francisco, California.
The sculpture was moved here from Burning Man, to honor the recent Environmental Congress.
The skin of the bear appeared rough because it was built from recycled car hoods (bonnets).
The website for the polar bear project was clearly stenciled on the base of the sculpture.
Massive black claws extended from the polar bear's feet.
Massive black claws also extended from the polar bear's paws.

The shadow of the polar bear was so long that it shaded a man seated on distant steps.

The broad back of the polar bear sculpture. Notice how the metal is layered, like shingles on a roof, to help repel rain.
