"Blue Turns" Sculpture 1992, Ceramic Art, Artist: John Toki, 216 F Street, Davis, California
The "Blue Turns" sculpture was made of a collection of ceramic pieces. This sculpture was made in 1992 and only
recently installed on F Street in Davis, California. It is a bold statement, over eight feet tall.
A small sign on the wall behind the sculpture identified it. That sign read:
A closer shot of the top of the Blue Turn, a wide blue line that makes a right-hand turn.
A closer look at the middle of the "Blue Turns" sculpture. Notice the tiny identifying sign on the wall behind the
sculpture.
A closer look at the bottom of the "Blue Turns" sculpture. Notice that its narrow end sits on the ground.
Another shot of the top of the "Blue Turns" sculpture, this time from the side, thusly showing that the
sculpture has depth to its face.
A stout metal stand was bolted to the sidewalk to hold the sculpture up and prevent it from falling or being pushed
over.
A closer look at the edge of the "Blue Turns" sculpture, illustrating that the edge has and attractive texture of
its own.
