A recently pruned tree near the Bandstand in Golden Gate Park had three vertical branches near each other. The effect was that of a letter W.

A beginning tree

On an overcast day in winter, Josaphat Park had a somber mood. The tree appeared to have been damaged by a storm and was starting to re-grow. Its three trunks gave it the appearance of the letter W.
