Vern Adkison, Bridge At The Mount Pisgah Arboretum

The bridge as it came into view while walking along a trail. It was a wooden bridge, over-built to
last many years.

A view alongside the bridge with its triangular outriggers
to prevent the bridge from wobbling side to side.

People walked over the bridge. As you can see, the bridge was a pedestrian bridge.

Lily pads floated on the water below the bridge. A bull frog sat on one of the lily
pads, thereby creating the classic pastoral scene.

The lily pads under the bridge were in bloom. Their yellow flowers could be seen
floating nearby.
|
Stout galvanized eye bolts held the cable taught that prevented children from falling.

A bronze plaque was attached to the bridge. It read (in part):
