A person stood upstairs on the Heavy Petting Zoo art car and waved at the folks dancing below. The stuffed animals were so densely packed that the person almost vanished among them.

Another, more permanent sign on the stage read, "Heavy Petting Zoo" and was the name of one of the portable stages (and art cars) that appeared at Burning Man.

A small, yellow cardboard sign stated the stage rules. It read in part:

The HEAVY PETTING ZOO is Radically Inclusive
and Welcomes All Party Animals
(unless you act creepy, then you will be unwelcomed)

The upstairs was available for all folks to visit. People would go upstairs to take pictures, to dance, or to wave at others in the faire. Or simply to perform heavy petting of the stuffed animals.

One of the signs on the stage read, "Bootie," with the second O turned into a skull and cross-bones.
