Buena Vista, / Horace Mann: 2013 San Francisco Carnival Parade
The banner for Buena Vista/Horace Mann school was carried by two boys, and was printed in Spanish. That
seemed natural because Buena Vista/Horace Mann was a Spanish Immersion K-8 School.
The drum corps for the Buena Vista/Horace Mann school marched next to the float that featured a large globe of the world.
The back of the float featured a large globe with a card-stock cutout of a super hero flying beside it. Note that
the back of the float was littered with supplies to keep the students safe and hydrated.
Girls of several ages danced their way up the street all dressed in identical blue and green outfits.
The older girls led the group. Here was one of the older girls in the front row leading the others.
A girl demonstrated great skill at working the hula hoop while marching behind the dancers and ahead of the parents with
young children.
A young boy was led along the parade route in the group of parents and young children that followed the hula hooper.
He wore a green hat and green cape and sucked on a sucker.
