Xiuhcoatl Danza Azteca, In The 2016 38th Annual San Francisco, Carnaval Parade

The banner was carried by two stout men. Behind them followed smoke.

A pickup truck led the contingent. A man waved from inside the truck. Another man rode in the
truck bed while wearing an elaborate headdress.

Those marching with Xiuhcoatl Danza Azteca generated smoke using smoldering pots.
Children marched alongside them with the morning sun behind.

Women, dressed in fancy feathered head-wear and colorful dresses, carried smoke.
|
Each marcher wore a distinctive color with matching feathers.
|
A man wore a silver headband and a silver breastplate, and carried a tiny silver umbrella in his hand.

Another man wore a bird on his head, shoulder pads, a cartoon on his chest, and a shield on
his arm.
|
A young woman wore a child-sized headdress and a less elaborate costume.
|
A man and two boys marched together in a line, side by side as if they were a family.
|
A woman waved to the crowd lining the sidewalk.
|
Support folk followed behind the costumed marchers. One young child needed to be carried.
