The building it is in was built in 1921 , some of the horses/figures are older . there is a transitional Dentzel listener, which according to Carousel roune up or was it merrygo round mag. anyhow that type of carving was done ONLY brtween the years 1885 to 1890.

You can only clean with soft cotton cloth because nylon will strip the paint off.

I was told that the eagle on a saddle was meant to depict a horse from the civil war, usually on a stander. horses that represented those of the generals of the war.
