Iglesia La Merced
Kids hung out on a large cross set on the plaza in front of the cathedral.
The welcome sign out front was in English. It read:
One of the houses across the street from the church gave an idea
of the neighborhood. This nice blue house belonged to the church.
Across a side street was a building under construction. Note that in a later
photograph will be found a view looking down into the building
from above.
A school bus was parked across the street from the plaza out front.
A view of the plaza as seen from inside looking out through a locked gate.
A spiral staircase led up to the bell tower. It was open for tourists
and free.
A round window was found part way up the stairs.
Part way up was a defaced sign that at one time warned:
Part way up were found stairs behind bars with no indication
of what they were for.
The view of the City of Granada available from the bell tower.
Another view looking the other way, inland towards the mountains.
A view of the plaza out front as seen from the bell tower.
The roof of the church as seen from the bell tower.
A view from above of that building under construction as seen from the bell tower.
The neighborhood with that same blue house across the street, but now seen
from above. That nice blue house belonged to the church.

The stairs down. Notice where they continued down in the lower right of this shot.
