A Pullout, Rest Stop While Traveling Nicaragua
Four tourist gazed at Ometepe Island, with one of its two volcanos, far out in Lake Nicaragua.
The tourists names were (left to right) Terry Costales, Grazyna Szawlowski, Nicole Hartwig, and
Susan.
Tiny yellow and small purple wild flowers grew alongside the parking area of the pullout.
From the pullout, one could see both of the volcanos that formed Ometepe Island.
The lake was high at the end of the rainy season. Here, trees had been drowned and their branches
appeared brown with the dark water behind.
This tire planter once held a sapling. Over time this tree has grown so large that
the tires can no longer be removed. A beer can formed a bit of trash near the tree.
The tops of the two benches at the pullout were covered with a mosaic
created from broken, decorative tiles.
A van used to transport groups was parked in the pullout. The pullout was a rest stop with benches and a view,
but lacked rest rooms. However, there was plenty of screening foliage for the more self assured.
A tractor trailer truck roared past on the roadway above the rest stop.
Other traffic on the roadway included cars and buses. Most of the traffic that time of day
was traveling in the same direction as our van had been traveling.
