Hermosa Beach was a popular surfing beach. Here tables were placed under a tree near shore. Notice also that the trash can behind the foreground post was constructed of plastic bottles.

The sand on Hermosa Beach was a fine grey, as could be seen just beginning to cover this sand dollar.

A group of surfers were on their way south to surf. They could not surf opposite the camp because of a range of submerged rocks there. Here they awaited a straggler.

The beach offered a small restaurant and modest bar. Eugenio Quesada, the G Adventures guide, paused for a moment to enjoy lunch.

As the tide began to flow outward, wet sand was left behind that reflected the sky and distant hills.

Hermosa Beach ended at its northern end where a densely rocky shore began.

The rocky area at the northern end of the beach was a good place to find tide pools as the tide ebbed. Just beware that those rocks were very slippery. You would expect this area to smell of seaweed, but oddly there was no seaweed exposed so the beach smelled just like wet sand instead.

A mother with two young children were hunkered down in privacy on an almost deserted beach, building a sand castle.

A kid on a bicycle rode north along the beach, enjoying the wide sands left behind by the ebbing tide.

A volleyball court was set up just beyond the high tide line. A nice level sandy area for a volleyball game.
