Boat Trip, From Ketchikan, Alaska, A United States City
As the boat left the marina, it passed a floating dock, one end of which was sinking.
Sea planes were also docked at the marina. Here was one lifted up onto a floating dock to keep it dry.
One of several small islands the boat passed on its trip out-bound. Some of the islands were privately owned.
Signs of logging littered the shoreline seen off the port side of the boat.
The Spokely family erected the 40-foot aluminum cross just above the tide line on family property on the cove's north shore
The forest extended out over the water despite intervening shore rocks.
A section of the shore had been clear cut and deforested in the recent past.
A line was tied tightly to a can buoy in the water.
A sea plane had just taken off and flew low over the water.
A home had been constructed on a private island. Here it was barely visible between mature trees.
