Animal Enclosures, At The Oakland Zoo
The vast and well appointed enclosure for Malayan Sun Bears. Note the pond at the back and the
Malayan Sun Bear in the lower part of this photo.
The enclosure for the Coatimundi looked almost like an enclosure for a bird instead of a
Coatimundi (a relative of the raccoon).
The enclosure for the Squirrel Monkey was covered in a fine wire screen.
The enclosure for the River Otter was mostly a deep pond with windows that allowed guests to view
the River Otter under water.
The petting zoo gave goats a place to graze and a place to climb rocks.
The enclosure for the Hamadryas Baboons was large and on a hillside and featured an open house for
the Baboons to inhabit.
The giraffe enclosure was large enough for giraffes to roam.
The zebra enclosure was also vast with enough room for them to wander and even to hide if frightened.
