A few of the thousands of pennies that decorated the exterior of the Lucky Penny restaurant
in The Funk Zone of Santa Barbara, California.
In addition to pennies, the exterior of the Lucky Penny building was edged in copper, a portion of which
had oxidized into a lovely green.
The entry to the kitchen was where one would place orders. Just outside the entry was a bell over a bench.
The counter at which one could place an order for a wood-fired pizza.
The order that day was for an inside-out breakfast burrito pizza. Here the potatoes, onions, egg, and
cilantro of a breakfast burrito filling were spread atop a wood-fired pizza for lunch.
A view of the pizza after having been eaten. Notice the design of the Lucky Penny paper upon which
the pizza had been served. The serving board could be washed and reused. The paper could be composted.
