Marina, In Newport An Oregon Beach Town
The marina behind the Landings condo rentals appeared picturesque as the sun set beyond.
Next to the Landings, was a second marina. That other marina was filled with fishing boats. You can just make out the Newport bridge in the background.
An old rusted lamp housing was one of many that lit the marina. Inside this old housing was
a new LED bulb.
A sign posted to regulate dog waste read,
Under the sign was a receptacle to house dog waste and a dispenser for plastic bags
for picking up dog waste.
Ramps led down to the floating piers. The extreme angle that morning was do to a very low tide.
More than 37 crab pots were stacked on the dock, ready for a boat to take them out for the
start of crab season. This was the first day that pots could be set, and a week later was
the first day that pots could be pulled up.
The Landings was a mixture of private condos and condos for rent. Every unit had a deck
overlooking the bay and marina.
Each slip in the marina had power and fresh water supplied by city water. Stains on pilings
showed that tides were modest in the bay.
