Elevator, As A Building Detail
An elevator (US and Canada) or lift (UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Nigeria) is a type of vertical transportation that moves people or goods between floors (levels, decks) of a building, vessel, or other structure. Elevators are generally powered by electric motors that either drive traction cables and counterweight systems like a hoist, or pump hydraulic fluid to raise a cylindrical piston like a jack. An old wooden elevator was located in the old town area of Sacramento, California. A sign on the elevator suggested one should take the elevator to "River City Tattoo." external link
