Rock And Glass, A San Francisco Fountain, As A Found Water Thing
The only sign on the fountain, instead of identifying it, merely warned, "Please Do Not Stand On Rocks."
A man on a skateboard rolled around the circular shaped glass fountain.
The fountain was composed of two outer rings of glass with one inner and lower ring of glass.
Rocks lined the inside edge of the inner, lower ring of glass.
The top edge of all three rings of glass were topped with a thick layer of bronze.
Water spilled over the outer ring of glass, creating a relaxing and pastoral feeling.
The constant flow of water created ever changing and abstractly moving art.
The fountain lay just back from a wide Market Street sidewalk, as part of a wide privately owned, public plaza.
