Santa Barbara, California Amtrak Station, A U.S. Railroad

A mural marked the entrance to the station. In addition to a picture of a train passing the
station, were the last two digits of the 209 address.

A classic Spanish-style station with its arched waiting area, February flowers and palm trees.

Arches, with rain spouts extended out between them, formed a welcome border between shade for those awaiting a train's arrival, and the sunny platform.

Inside, beyond an arch labeled "Santa Barbara," stood the entry doorway.

The ticket counter was built of wood and located to the left of the entry door as one entered.

A woodcut piece of art on the wall depicted a Spanish Vaquero with a lariat over his head.
That art provided a backdrop for the display of advertising pamphlets.
