Train Ride, At The Oakland Zoo
The train ride was perhaps the most interesting ride because
it ran from outside the zoo, through and around the zoo and back out again.
The lines for the train ride were long and the ride itself was full.
Here the train had just returned and was unloading.
The tain pulled through grade crossings throughout the trip. Here it was about to cross a footpath.
Adults and children rode the train. Despite appearances, there was no dress code enforced.
A seat at the back of the train gave the appearance of a caboose. It was the kind of rear facing platform
at which a candiate might speak at a whistle stop.
Tracks ran into the park through a train tunnel that was made by the branches of trees.
The train ride took folks alongside animal enclosures for a great view of selected animals.
The train had a permanent loop that ran around the outside kid's entertainment area of the zoo.
The Station was located outside the zoo.
The train on the front of the train said, "Wild Australia," and showed a picture of a kangaroo and an emu.
