Mural Behind The Library, Artist: Unknown, 420 Litho Street, Sausalito, California
The mural was a wide one painted against the wall behind the library.
The mural was painted by children and featured an undersea view of the world.
The murals were drawn on a long retaining wall and on the face of sliding garage doors.
A yellow submarine floated under water but above everything else.
A diver swam among sharks and whales.
Smiling sea stars littered the sea bottom.
A treasure chest lay open and displayed gold inside.
The sea bottom was painted with many smiling creatures. Smiling sea stars appeared to dance.
Smiling octopi (with too few tentacles) floated just above the bottom.
Other creatures did not smile.
Other sea life was painted on the sliding garage door.
A wide assortment of sea creatures decorated the area between the steel slats.
A smiling sea jelly was drawn on a section of wall.
That jelly was multicolored almost as if it were a gay jelly.
The diver floated next to sea turtles.
The diving suit was yellow with black stripes, thereby creating a festive mood.
The diver wore two large air tanks and exhaled dark blue bubbles.
A mermaid floated near the bottom of the sea. She had long golden hair and carried a fish in her left hand.
She too exhaled bubbles, but her bubbles were white.
A sea star shaped like a sun floated over a whale.
Called a sun star, this sea star can have up to forty arms.
A sea star lay on the sea bottom. It was a bright yellow color and had a happy smile.
