Tangles Studio Mural, As Found Art, Artist: Unknown, 515 G Street , Davis, California
|
The mural was on the far side of plants and covered the entire side of the
Tangles Studio building. It featured a street sign, with hair and a smile, thinking
of a woman with hearts for eyes, and saying, "heart star."
Sadly, there was no signature on this mural to identify the artist.
|
The mural, as seen from the sidewalk on G Street, was obscured by plants and trees.
Yet it was still obvious enough to be remembered as a landmark.
|
A star faced cat (or possibly a lion) with a curled tail stood atop a hill and
thought of a dog.
|
A sign with hair said "Heart Star," against a blue painted sky.
Seen up close, as revealed in this photograph, was the brushwork used by the unknown artist.
|
A pox faced mechanic held a wrench. His uniform and hat were the same color.
An identical badge appeared on his chest and hat.
|
Kids played in the leftmost lower corner of this mural.
The girl's hair blew in the wind. The boy wore a hat and a tee shirt with a circle on the front.
Behind them was a police car and a train, both making noise.
|
The upper left corner of the mural showed clouds as if thoughts. In the middle of most of
the clouds were drawn faces. There were two women, one small and one huge. There were
two abstract smiles. And there was a cat and a blue faced man.
