First Day Hike, At Baker Bay Campground, Oregon
The path led from camp, over a small bridge and then through this very scenic forest. The trees were lit with
late afternoon sunlight.
A fire pit had been created from rocks and then used an indeterminate time ago. This fire could not be recent
because these woods have been under an extreme fire danger all summer.
A large home was for sale with its elevated porch facing the lake,
and its private gate and path leading down to the forest and lake.
Our small dog Gypsy led the way along the path toward a better access to the lake.
Terry followed Gypsy down the trail. She in turn was followed by Westley. And Westley was ultimately followed
by Brandon and Denver. The forest looked dense, but this was an illusion caused by a curve in the path.
The path led eventually to this wide but rocky beach. Terry and Denver found a comfortable stump to sit on.
Dexter sat on Denver and Gypsy watched the water lapping at the lake shore.
A bridge spanned a small creek that fed the lake. Access to the path parallel to the lake was over this bridge.
One also had to cross this bridge to access the lake just below our camp spot.
