Three kids walked home uphill from the main road through town. The presence of paving bricks alongside the road further uphill, suggest that this section of road will eventually be paved.

The Main Business Street

The main business street in San Juan del Sur was just five blocks long and ran from the base of the hills down to the beach. Here we looked in the direction of the beach.

Comedor Itxel No. 2

The small restaurant called "Comedor Itxel No. 2" was a hangout for tourists. Here, the sign out front read in English, "Welcome to Comedor Itxel No. 2. The Same Market Price."

The Hills Overlooking Town

Quoting Wikipedia: "The Christ of the Mercy is a colossal statue of Jesus Christ, the biggest image of Central America that is in the city of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, to a height of 134 m above sea level." Earlier rain clouds were just breaking up.

The Town Church

The town church was one block south of the main street. Steps led up from the street to a plaza and then more steps let up from the plaza into the church.

The Town Plaza
