Vallejo, California Martin Luther King Jr. Park A City in Salono County
The park has historically served as the site for the city's Juneteenth festivities. The Solano County African-American Family Celebration Committee, which hosts the annual events, approached the city roughly a year ago with the request for the renaming. Angela Jones, secretary for the county committee, told the Vallejo Sun last year that the park had unofficially become known as Martin Luther King Park. [from times-herald newspaper]
