Net Over Ice

In one of the rail cars on exhibit in the California State Railroad Museum was an ice car. In it was a net used to hold back (here plastic) ice while the train was in motion.

Net On Dirt

Here a net made of natrual fibered rope was used to prvent erosion while new ground cover grew. Notice the few tiny leaves just starting to grow among the net's holes.
