On the beach at Chula Vista Nature Park, a few of the exhibitors at that day's celebration were serious bird watchers. This was the spotting scope used by one of them. Notice how well protected and cared for it was.

Atop the viewing area of Kerby Park were a few of these permanently affixed scopes. They could rotate and tilt, and the brass piece allowed them to focus. The optics were surprisingly good for a bird-scarred object like this.
