A bike lane in Berkeley was well protected. A new sidewalk was created separated from the original sidewalk. A metal fence was added. In the gap between the two sidewalks was a new protected bicycle lane.

Bicycle Crosswalk

The intersection had a separate crosswalk for bicycles. Unfortunately, the crosswalk for humans and the crosswalk for bicycles were both regulated by the human crosswalk count-down timer.
