The Promenade Deck was open to the Alaska elements and chilly. Nobody was walking or jogging on the deck, but two people were bundled up and seated.

Wooden (perhaps teak) deck furniture was available to sit upon. On this cruise, be certain to bring a blanket when seated.

Modern lifeboats were stored overhead. A few of these same life boats became shuttles to shore when no dock was available.

Each cabin had a life jacket for each booked passenger. On the Promenade Deck, lockers were filled with extra life jackets, so there could be no shortage.

The Promenade Deck narrowed as it approached the ship's bow.

A convex mirror up high, where the deck curved around the bow, helped prevent injuries from jogging collisions.

The part of the Promenade Deck that curved around the stern, was open and a good place to watch the ship's wake.

Many deck chairs were available for seating. Note the occasional table between the seats as a place to set one's drink.
