A Totem Pole
Artists: Rex and Ray Losey
Restored by: Ray Losey 2014
In the Oregon Zoo
Portland, Oregon

Initially created for Greenpeace, this pole depicts Northwest wildlife: otter, bear, beaver, wolf and eagle with salmon. Each totem is in some way disfigured --a missing eye, lost teeth or otherwise damaged features-- to express the dangers of environmental pollution. [from a sign below the totem]
